10 things I'll miss about you, England

Ten more days to go and my challenge is to list one thing I'll miss about England every day. Today, I must admit, it's certain foods. By no means will I miss 'British food' in the broader sense, but there is a sub-section of items here I've grown a real appetite for.

I'm not sure what genre Marmite on toast, yorkshire pudding with gravy and beans on toast (with Marmite under the beans, naturally) is considered, but I think there must be some intensely-salty-savoury thing going on that binds them all together. Whatever it is, I like.

I'm also going to be interactive, so... if you were leaving where you're at now, what foods would you miss the most? Or...what foods are you craving that you can't get now? Go on...

Love the food! I grew up loving yorkshire pudding, but never had a fondness for Marmite even though it was always in our fridge.

If I left Hawaii, I would miss mochi, poke, and some of the fruit. I'm not really into the laulau, lomilomi or the kalua pork.

As for what foods I miss now that I can't get, that's easy - In n Out. Second would be decent thai food.

Nadine, for some reason I'm surprised there's not good Thai food in Hawaii. I also love Mochi from my Japan days...can't wait to have some in a week!

Houston and I still buy Heinz beans here in Boston and put them on jacket potatoes. I also miss Balti!

Heather, do you love Lucky Charms enough to pay £7 for it at Selfridges?! Can't believe the mark-up. :)

Well, I've seen Marmite at World market. Plus you'll be in LA so I'm sure you can find it somewhere. As for the Yorkshire pudding, YUM! I could get ahold of my husband's family recipe if you want it.

Ah, yorkshire pudding. That's what that photo is. It's been that long since I've had one.
